Due to the evolution of powder micro injection molding technology from traditional powder injection molding, the process steps of this technology are basically the same as those of powder injection molding technology, namely feed preparation (preparing a uniform mixture of raw material powder and binder), injection molding (filling molten feed into the mold cavity to obtain a preform), degreasing (completely removing binder components from the green body to obtain a degreased body), and sintering (heat treating the degreased body to give it a certain density and mechanical properties). On the other hand, it also inherits the three major advantages of traditional powder injection molding technology, namely low cost, complex shape, and high performance. However, when the size of the formed microstructure decreases to the micrometer level, more stringent requirements are put forward for raw materials, forming equipment, injection molding, and heat treatment processes. This is precisely the important difference between powder micro injection molding technology and traditional powder injection molding technology, and it is also the significance of research on powder micro injection molding technology.
